It is a long time

Since I came

And all was waiting there for me

The bare-knuckled trees

Pomegranate and Persimmon

The Robin who turned

To show off their breast

Before pretending

To have found specks of food

In the pond I saw grey sky

Reflected

And though I heard planes fly

They did so invisibly

While everywhere dripped

At differing speeds

And I meditated

But not for long

As others came

Making me feel safer

It’s been so long

Since I came

To see the gardens

In the rain

And I had almost forgotten

What a holy

Place and time that is
